Guillermo grew up in Redwood City and played for the Juventus SC Monarcas who were ranked #1 in the country for two consecutive years at U14 and U15. His other accomplishments as a youth player include Surf Cup Champions, Dallas Cup Champions and four time CYSA State Cup Champions. He was part of the US Club National team pool and was then recruited to play in college at Fresno Pacific University. Guillermo played center mid and forward. In 2012 his team was the finalist at the NCAA National Tournament and in 2013 his team won the Pacific West conference title. That year his team was first team All Western Region.
Guillermo started as assistant coach for girls in MP Strikers in 2010 and has coached with the club ever since. Talancon has a USSF National “C” License. Besides coaching club soccer, he is also the Sacred Heart Prep varsity boys assistant coach.
Guillermo wants to create a positive learning environment where kids can strive to become better soccer players, teammates, friends, and people. He looks to improve every players technical ability and soccer IQ since it is the foundation of a great soccer player. As a player strengthens their skills, they can then grow in their tactical understanding of the game and start to enjoy the most beautiful game in the world. He strives to instill passion and hard work through the game and bring happiness to the kids by playing fun, creative soccer.
